Jacob O. McGehee Civil War letter, 1864 Nov.

Letter, written by Jacob O. McGehee, Petersburg, Va., to his sister. After inquiring about friends, Jacob writes about visiting the 18th Virginia Regiment where apparently some of his friends had enlisted, and describes picket duty, sharpshooting, and an incident when Confederate troops charged Union lines and observed African American soldiers on picket duty.
